Is car insurance somewhat ridiculous?

ok i may be a little ranting cuz i was at fault for causing my first accident a long time ago, so my rates would go up. this got me thinking, the car was under someone else in my family's name, and the basic idea ive come to question is: after decades of paying for insurance with no accidents, it would probably be more than enough to cover the car repair damages instead of paying for all those years in addition the first accident i got into causing the rates go up? so i mean, isn't car insurance somewhat like a scam since obviously theres not as many accidents as there are people driving without any incidents?

Having a baby with no medical insurance?

About a month and a half ago I got a new job as a temp-hire. It can take 3 months to 2 years to get hired on. Last week I found out that I'm pregnant; I have no medical benefits at all. I really want to go to the doctor and get a check up just to make sure everything is all right, but I am afraid of the cost. I know if I go for an independent plan, I am uninsurable because of the pregnancy, so there is no chance of getting coverage. Even though I am a licensed life and health insurance agent, I have no idea what to do. Where can I go get prenatal care without spending everything I have? Please help! :(

I got a citation for an infraction recently. I was sober and I drove my friend back onto campus. There were two stop signs at night and I did not see any lights so I thought no car was there and I passed right through the stop signs. HELP!!!! Do I need car insurance if I don't own a car and don't drive much in the state of Florida?

I am 16 years old and State Farm is calling me and it is getting annoying. I don't own a car and I don't drive much. When I do drive I borrow the car that is under my sister's name. My parent's don't drive. My dad's license is expired and he doesn't drive anymore, and my mom doesn't know how to drive at all. I keep hearing conflicting things, some say that it is a law in the state of Florida (where I live) that anyone with a license needs to have insurance, while others say that it is not necessary to have insurance if you don't own a vehicle and don't drive much. My question is: Do I need car insurance in the state of Florida if I do not own a car and don't drive much? Thanks!

Do parents really expect their teens in highschool to pay for their own cars?

Its enraging when I hear my parents/parents in general tell their kids, who have their licenses to pay for a car yourself . Not even a split? A loan? These kids are still in highschool! Even after highschool in college, I just don't see how one can pay for even a cheap used car themselves unless they dedicate their life and save every penny for the damn car. People that age usually earn close to minimum wage, and if they spend all their time working instead of studying, that's all their ever going to make. Ex) my friend earns 9.25 hourly at a grocery store (he's worked there for a while so its not exact minimum wage), and works 40 hours a week. He is ALWAYS at work. At the end of the week, his checks are worth about 338 after taxes. A crappy used car is probably about 5000? I'm not fully sure. Someone that age would have to work 40 hours a week for quite a long time. Since they're teenagers, that would pretty much leave them no time for studying/doing homework and a social life in general. Don't parents want their children to perform well academically as well? Aside from financial issues of their own, why wouldn't a parent with a decent amount of money atleast agree to help their responsible teenager pay for a used or inexpensive car? I'm not suggesting brand new BMWs or mercades, but why not like an 06/07 used toyota or honda in good condition? Why not agree to help pay for.half or a smaller fraction of it? And don't they get sick of their kids always using their cars? What do you think?
